Concerned private Hajj operators have called for an independent review of how the 15,000 private-sector slots were distributed ahead of the 2027 Hajj. They urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to order an investigation into the allocation, alleging that some slots meant for operators were diverted. The operators said the review would identify beneficiaries and determine compliance with regulations and agreements with Saudi authorities. They noted that more than 500 licensed operators were expected to share 10,000 slots after 5,000 were allegedly diverted.
