Lionel Messi has set a new record for most goals scored in finals, according to the official Ballon d'Or website. The milestone came after he led Inter Miami to a 2-0 victory over Cruz Azul in the 2026 Campeones Cup. Messi scored with a header, bringing his career total in finals to 36 goals in 53 appearances. The goal also marked his 100th for Inter Miami since joining in 2023.
