Alhaji Ganiyu Kola Egunjobi, a former Chairman of Agege Local Government Area, and Azeez Oladapo Yusuf, another APC chieftain in the area, have defected to the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and secured its tickets. They dismissed reports linking their defection to Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker Mudasiru Obasa. Both had contested the APC tickets for Agege Constituencies I and II but protested the conduct of the primaries, which they claim to have won. Their defection followed a controversial primary where Egunjobi lost to his former Vice-Chairman, Glenga Abiola, and Yusuf's rival, Hon. Sakiru Sule Enimakure, was declared winner.
