Hans-Joachim Watzke, vice-president of the German Football Association (DFB), has said that FIFA President Gianni Infantino must leave his position "no ifs or buts." Watzke cited three points against Infantino, including the creation of the FIFA Peace Prize awarded to US President Donald Trump in December 2025. The DFB was one of the few federations not to sign a letter of support for Infantino's re-election. Watzke also condemned the handling of the Folarin case.
