Cristiano Ronaldo has been called up for the start of Portugal's Nations League campaign, marking Jorge Jesus's first squad since taking over as coach. The 41-year-old Ronaldo said last month that this would probably be his final season in football, capping a career in which he has scored more than 950 goals for club and country. Jesus, 72, previously coached the five-time Ballon d'Or winner at Al-Nassr before leaving in May after guiding the club to the Saudi Pro League title, and replaced Roberto Martinez following Portugal's last-16 exit at the World Cup. Ronaldo is the leading scorer in the history of men's international football with 146 goals in 233 appearances, and became the first player to score at six World Cups last summer.
