Niger State Governor Umaru Bago has imposed a 24-hour curfew across Minna, the state capital, effective immediately after Friday's Jumu'ah prayers and until further notice. The curfew requires residents to remain indoors and refrain from unnecessary movements. Security agencies have been directed to enforce the curfew and protect lives and property. The move follows Thursday's protest and unrest linked to the deaths of suspected illegal miners who reportedly died in the custody of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Minna. Residents have been urged to remain calm and comply with directives from security agencies.
