Berkshire Hathaway announced that Howard Graham Buffett will become chairman, succeeding his father, Warren Buffett, who will take the title of chairman emeritus and remain a director. Howard Buffett, 71, has served on the company's board since 1993. Greg Abel, who became CEO at the beginning of 2026, remains in charge of the company and its major decisions. Warren Buffett said Abel will run the company while Howard will guard its culture and values.
