The Western Cape Department of Agriculture celebrated the centenary of Langgewens Research Farm, marking 100 years of agricultural innovation. The event commemorated the farm's purchase in 1926 as a centre for scientific experimentation and development. Over the past century, Langgewens has become a leading dryland agricultural research facility, contributing to grain production, conservation agriculture, soil health, and climate-resilient farming systems. Minister Ivan Meyer delivered the keynote address, unveiled a centenary plaque, and participated in the launch of commemorative activities.
