The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Kaduna State University (KASU) chapter, has suspended its ongoing strike. The suspension followed the Kaduna State Government's approval of the implementation and domestication of the 2025 Federal Government-ASUU agreement for academic staff. The union announced the suspension after its congress meeting on Thursday, September 17, 2026, where members unanimously accepted the approvals by the state government, KASU Governing Council and university management. In a communiqué signed by the KASU-ASUU Chairman, Comrade Abubakar Abdullahi, and Secretary, Comrade Silas Amos Bakut, the union said implementation would commence from October 2026, and that the Governing Council and management had approved payment of nine months' accrued arrears covering January to September.
