The Gombe State Police Command has announced security measures for the upcoming by-election in the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency. The by-election is scheduled by INEC for September 19, 2026, across Gombe, Kwami, and Funakaye Local Government Areas. Commissioner of Police Umar Ahmed Chuso has ordered the deployment of personnel to INEC offices, polling units, collation centres, and other strategic locations. Movement and commercial activities will be restricted in three LGAs to ensure a peaceful exercise.
