The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, has appointed H.E. Ambassador Fathallah Sijilmassi as Special Envoy for G20 and Global Affairs. The appointment reflects the African Union's continued efforts to strengthen its engagement with global institutions and platforms and to ensure that Africa's priorities, perspectives and interests are effectively articulated in international decision-making processes. As Special Envoy, Amb. Sijilmassi will support the Chairperson of the Commission in advancing the African Union's strategic engagement with the G20 and other key global and multilateral platforms.
