Moroccan and French tourism stakeholders met in Lyon on Wednesday and called for the development of a structured, accessible mountain tourism offering that embraces new trends and practices in the sector. The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts, as well as institutional stakeholders and professionals from both countries, with a shared ambition of rethinking mountain areas as genuine destinations for tourism, experiences, and economic development. Discussions focused on French and Moroccan experiences and ways to open up prospects for cooperation in training, accommodation, development planning, territorial promotion, and the creation of new tourism offerings in this field. Benoît Robert, director of Cluster Montagne, a network of French stakeholders, noted that mountain tourism is becoming increasingly popular in Morocco, and after developing its coastal areas, the Kingdom now seeks to further develop this segment.
