US police have arrested Joseph Lynch, 61, in connection with the 1993 rape and murder of 10-year-old George 'Junior' Burdynski in Brentwood, Maryland. The break in the cold case came in May 2026 when a witness disclosed being present with Lynch and the victim on the day of the disappearance. Lynch was formally charged on Friday, September 18, 2026. The investigation had remained open for 33 years.
