As schools resumed for the 2026/27 academic session, the Ogun State Police Command increased security measures to ensure the safety of children and teachers. Following a distress call about an armed gang robbery on students in their hostel in the Eruku/Agbon community, police operatives arrived and foiled the robbery, arresting two suspects while others fled. Preliminary investigations revealed that the gang forced one victim to transfer N200,000 to an account and stole 11 smartphones and a laptop. The police recovered the stolen items and returned them to their owners, and are actively tracking the fleeing gang members and the owner of the beneficiary account.
