Police in Benue State rescued eight victims abducted along the Ankpenchi-Ogobia axis of Ohimini Local Government Area. The rescue followed a gun battle between police operatives and suspected kidnappers. The victims were among 13 passengers abducted from a commercial bus travelling from Abakaliki to Abuja. One victim died from gunshot injuries.
