United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) partners with the government to officiate the 12th UNESCO Africa Engineering Week (AEW) and 10th Africa Engineering Conference (AEC)

The 12th UNESCO Africa Engineering Week and 10th Africa Engineering Conference were held under the theme 'Engineering Africa's Inclusive, Innovative, and Sustainable Future'. The 2026 edition brought together more than 300 participants from 28 countries across Africa and other regions. Discussions covered engineering education and skills development, innovation and emerging technologies, digital transformation and artificial intelligence, sustainable infrastructure, climate resilience, gender equality and youth participation. The events were officially launched by the Second Vice-President of Zanzibar, Hon. Hemed Salum Abdulla.
