Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has accused the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council of distorting the outcome of the Mambilla arbitration. In a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku said the APC took a tribunal award, "amputated its legal meaning, stuffed the gaps with political propaganda" and presented it as a corruption verdict against him. He argued that the APC's distortion rested on a false assumption that because he served as Vice President in the Obasanjo administration, every action of that government must be attributed to him.
