Disney has appointed Karandeep Anand as its first companywide chief technology officer and senior executive vice president. The hiring was announced by CEO Josh D'Amaro in a memo to employees. Anand joins from Character.AI, which previously received a cease-and-desist letter from Disney. The move is part of a leadership shuffle under D'Amaro, following the promotion of Adam Smith to head of streaming and the reassignment of Joe Earley.
