Nigeria's current account surplus rose by 68% to $7.54 billion in the second quarter, according to Central Bank of Nigeria balance of payments data. The increase was supported by stronger exports of crude oil, natural gas, and refined petroleum products, as well as higher foreign portfolio investment. The goods trade surplus widened to $10.12 billion, with total exports increasing from $15.56 billion to $20.08 billion. Foreign exchange reserves exceeded $51 billion, and the overall balance of payments recorded a $3.51 billion surplus.
