The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has demanded a transparent investigation into the deaths of 37 miners in Niger State, stating that the lives of poor Nigerians must not be treated as disposable. The party called for independent autopsies, publication of victims' identities and detention records, compensation for families, and prosecution of officials responsible. ADC's National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, issued a statement describing the deaths as an indictment on the government's value for Nigerian lives.
