Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Aliyu has condoled with the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar III, over the death of his stepmother, Hajiya Nana Asma'u, who died at the age of 100. The governor visited the Sultan's palace to express his condolences, describing the deceased as a great loss to the royal family, Sokoto State, and the country. He noted that Nana Asma'u played an important motherly role and her death created a vacuum. The Sultan thanked the governor for his visit.
