Veterinary Doctors Threaten Shutdown Over CONMESS, Gives Bauchi Govt 21-Day Ultimatum

The Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA) in Bauchi State has issued a 21-day ultimatum to the state government to implement the revised Consolidated Medical Salary Structure (CONMESS) for veterinary doctors. The association warned that failure to meet the demand would result in the total withdrawal of veterinary services across the state. The chairman, Dr. Abubakar Sadiq Ibrahim, stated that veterinary doctors have been excluded from the revised CONMESS despite provisions in official documents from the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission. The association has made several efforts through correspondence and engagements with relevant government authorities to resolve the issue.
