Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has accused the APC Campaign Council of distorting the outcome of the Mambilla arbitration. Atiku stated that no corruption verdict was delivered against him, contrary to the APC's claims. He argued that the APC's demand for him to quit the 2027 race is based on a false assumption that every action of the Obasanjo administration should be attributed to him. Atiku cited his opposition to the third-term project as evidence that he should not be automatically linked to all decisions of that government.
