Former Cross River State Governor Liyel Imoke has stated that his administration inherited substantial debts, contingent liabilities and called guarantees linked to the Tinapa Business Resort and the Obudu Ranch Resort. He explained that the financial burden compelled his government to keep Tinapa operational while seeking ways to generate economic activity from the project. Imoke made the disclosure while discussing the fiscal challenges his administration faced over the state's major tourism investments.
