Waka music singer Queen Salawa Abeni has revealed that she was paralysed for five years following the death of her first son. Speaking in an interview with the YouTube channel Oyinmomo, she said she became paralysed from her neck to her legs and depended entirely on family members for daily care. Abeni recounted being taken from place to place in search of healing but said she never lost her commitment to music. She also noted the physical toll of her early career, saying she sometimes suffered severe health episodes on stage, including vomiting blood.
