The wife of the Borno State governor, Professor Falmata Zulum, has flagged off the distribution of five million Insecticide Treated Nets to tackle malaria in the state. Speaking in Maiduguri, she said malaria strains people's economy, productivity and health, and described the treated net as one of the effective, evidence-based tools against the disease. She pledged to ensure the nets reach women and households through various women's platforms. Borno State Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Prof. Baba Mallam Gana, said the state government has provided secured stores in all local government areas to ensure the nets reach the people.
