Anambra State Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has pardoned popular native doctor Chidozie Nwangwu, known as Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki, under the prerogative of mercy. Nwangwu was among eight native doctors arrested last year over involvement in the promotion of money ritual, quick wealth and the use of human parts for ritual, and he later entered a plea bargain with the state government. He was offered a light sentence of 11 months at the Nigeria Correctional Facility in Amawbia and given the condition of renouncing his fetish practice and becoming an ambassador of youth reformation. He accepted the conditions and was serving his term until the pardon, which makes him Ambassador for Youth Reformation in Anambra, according to Special Adviser to the governor on Youth Reformation, Dr. Nelson Omenugha.
