The Lagos State Police Command has distributed cheques totaling N89,201,523.07 to 157 families and next-of-kin of deceased officers. The presentation took place at the command headquarters in Ikeja, according to a statement by spokesperson SP Abimbola Adebisi. Commissioner of Police Fatai Tijani said the funds are from the Nigeria Police Force's welfare and insurance schemes, aimed at supporting families of officers who died in service. He urged beneficiaries to use the money judiciously.
