Dangote Refinery has completed basic engineering work for its expansion, aiming to increase production to 1.4 million barrels per day by 2029. The refinery currently operates at 700,000 bpd. According to Devakumar Edwin, Group Vice President of Oil and Gas and Fertiliser at Dangote Industries Ltd., detailed engineering is almost complete, most equipment has been ordered, and major contracts have been signed with advance payments made. The expansion is expected to cost less than the first phase and could be completed within three years.
