The Bayelsa State Police Command has denied claims of inaction in the investigation of a missing child, stating that eight suspects have been arraigned in court. The child, Amarachi Blessing Ogbonna, aged one year and ten months, reportedly disappeared from a church premises on June 21, 2026. Police spokesperson DSP Musa Mohammed said the Violent Crime Response Unit took over the case immediately after it was reported, dismissing social media narratives as a misrepresentation of events.
