The Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA), Bauchi State chapter, has issued a 21-day ultimatum to the Bauchi State government to implement the revised Consolidated Medical Salary Structure (CONMESS) for veterinary doctors. The association warned that failure to meet the demand would result in the total withdrawal of veterinary services across the state. Chairman Dr Abubakar Sadiq Ibrahim said veterinary doctors have been excluded from the revised CONMESS despite provisions from the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission.
