The Sasakawa Africa Association has trained 350 farmers in Buruku Local Government Area of Benue State on cassava seed and stem production. The training aims to boost income and strengthen agribusiness by enabling farmers to produce quality cassava stems for commercial sale. According to the association's programme officer, Jonathan Yassah, the intervention is designed to move farmers from subsistence cultivation to commercial production of improved planting materials. The farmers were organized into clusters to achieve common production targets and will receive support.
