The Delta State government has announced that its proposed 13th-month salary for public servants will cost approximately N16 billion. Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, disclosed this during a briefing with journalists in Asaba. He explained that the payment will be made as full gross salary, including all allowances and benefits, and is equivalent to the state's monthly wage bill. According to Aniagwu, the payment is intended to cushion the effects of current macroeconomic reforms, improve civil servants' welfare, and help workers prepare for expenses such as school fees and rent in January.
