Portuguese club Alverca have expressed pride after defender Isaac James received his first invitation to represent Nigeria’s Super Eagles in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Nigeria, three-time African champions, will host Madagascar on September 25 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, and will face Guinea-Bissau four days later. James was selected after an impressive run of form for Alverca, where he has started six matches in the ongoing 2026/2027 campaign. Alverca announced the milestone on their official social media channels, celebrating the player’s historic achievement.
