Parents of suspected illegal miners who died in the custody of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Niger State are demanding compensation for the bereaved families. They believe compensation would support affected families and deter future abuse of power by law enforcement. Among those affected is Musa Aliyu, who lost his two sons, aged 17 and 12, in the incident.
