Troops of the Nigerian military have rescued over 66 kidnapped victims, neutralized 12 terrorists in gunfights, and arrested more than 34 collaborators, logistics suppliers, and informants during nationwide operations. Major General Michael Onoja, Director of Defence Media Operations, disclosed that troops also tracked and diffused 12 Improvised Explosive Devices planted by terrorists in Niger State. In the North Central region, troops of Operation Savannah Shield neutralized three terrorists and confiscated firearms in Kwara State on 12 September 2026, recovering 35 rustled cattle. On 14 September 2026, troops on patrol from Deka conducted further operations.
