The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, condemned the death of 37 miners in the custody of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Niger State. In a statement released in Abuja, he described the incident as a tragedy that requires urgent action. The Social Democratic Party's Adebayo also called for immediate measures. Both urged authorities to address the situation promptly.
