A recorded speech by Dolly Parton was played at the 2026 Americana Honours & Awards in Nashville on September 16, where she was posthumously honoured with the Americana Music Association's Lifetime Achievement Award. Parton, who died on August 25 at the age of 80, reflected on her East Tennessee roots and the influence of Americana music on her career, including her 1997 album Hungry Again, which she described as a musical renaissance. The award had been announced on August 6, before her death.
