The All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticised Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde over what it describes as engineering incompetence, citing a diesel-powered streetlight and the Lekan Salami Stadium's failure to secure approval from the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The APC camp expressed concern that the stadium, refurbished by Makinde, did not meet CAF standards for Shooting Stars Sports Club to participate in continental fixtures. The party said these issues reflect poorly on the governor's handling of infrastructure projects.
