A report by Research and Markets projects that Africa's air conditioner market will grow from US$8.23 billion in 2025 to US$13.14 billion by 2034, representing a compound annual growth rate of 5.34 per cent during the 2026-2034 forecast period. The growth is driven by increasing heatwaves, rapid urbanisation, expanding construction activity, and improving household incomes. Rising temperatures and population growth are reshaping cooling requirements across residential, commercial, and industrial applications. Nigeria's market is also expanding, with residential properties, malls, hotels, and businesses as key demand centres, though power reliability and operating costs remain significant constraints. Daikin recently opened its first Nigerian branch.
