Aliko Dangote has spent decades building industries in Africa, and through the landmark public offer of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals, he is inviting millions of Africans to own part of that industrial future. The offer is described as a bridge from consumption to ownership and from economic dependence to shared prosperity. For generations, Africa has possessed vast reserves of oil, gas, gold, and other minerals, as well as commodities that sustain industries worldwide, yet the continent has often exported raw materials and imported finished products, surrendering value and retaining poverty. Nigeria's petroleum industry has long embodied this contradiction, exporting crude oil and importing refined products like petrol, diesel, and aviation fuel.
