Aston Villa won 3-2 at Tottenham Hotspur, compounding a miserable start for Roberto De Zerbi's men. Tottenham scored their first goals of the season but only after Villa had surged into a 3-0 lead. New signings Johan Manzambi and Nicolas Jackson scored for Villa, while Emi Buendia added a wonder strike. Tottenham's late consolation goals came from a Conor Gallagher effort that deflected in off Matty Cash and a stoppage-time header from Jan Paul van Hecke.
