The group, Imo Lawyers for the Defence of Democracy, issued a statement on Friday through its secretary, Ifeoma Chukwunyere, calling on Minister Nyesom Wike to stop personal attacks against Governor Hope Uzodinma. The lawyers warned that the ongoing exchanges involving Wike, Uzodinma, and the Nigeria Governors' Forum should not turn Imo State into a battleground for political supremacy. They emphasized that the people of Imo State have the constitutional right to choose their leaders and determine their political future without intimidation or external pressure. The group urged Wike to focus on policies, programmes, and verifiable facts rather than personal exchanges.
