President Bola Tinubu has announced that from October 1, commuters across Nigeria will see measurable reductions in transportation fares. He directed all 36 states to accelerate the National Affordable CNG Transit Programme. The directive follows an August 27 meeting with state governors where they agreed on the objective of reducing transportation costs. An implementation committee under the Nigeria Governors' Forum, chaired by Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, was established to drive the programme.
