The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) at Lagos State University (LASU) has declared an indefinite strike over the state government's failure to implement the 2025 ASUU/FGN Agreement. The strike, which began four days ago, was unanimously agreed upon by all three Lagos State-owned universities: LASU, LASUED, and LASUSTECH. In a communiqué signed by the Secretary of the ASUU-LASU Steering Committee, Comrade Thanny Nooem, and the Coordinator, Comrade Oluwaseun Babalola, the union stated that the decision followed months of unresolved issues. The chairman of ASUU-LASU has vowed that the industrial action will continue until their demands are met, potentially keeping academic activities suspended across all state-owned universities.
