President Bola Tinubu has directed state governments to ensure that lower operating costs from compressed natural gas (CNG)-powered transportation lead to reduced fares for commuters starting 1 October. The directive is part of the National Affordable CNG Transit Programme, launched after a meeting with state governors. Tinubu urged states to work with transport unions and operators to facilitate the necessary infrastructure and ensure savings are passed on to citizens.
