Black Out for Legendary Actor, Olu Jacobs

Veteran actor Olu Jacobs, whose full name is Oludotun Baiyewu Jacobs, is being celebrated for his contributions to African cinema and theatre. Born on July 11, 1942, to parents from Egba Alake and raised largely in Kano, he was inspired to pursue acting after attending a concert party by Chief Hubert Ogunde. He trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London and built a career spanning over five decades, appearing in British series such as The Goodies and Till Death Us Do Part. He is widely regarded as one of Nollywood's godfathers, bridging classical British theatre and modern African storytelling.
