Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), visited Kaduna State ahead of the 2027 general election. During a town hall meeting with NDC members and supporters, he urged politicians from other parties to avoid making campaign promises they cannot fulfill if elected. Obi emphasized that political campaigns should be demand-driven and issue-based, focusing on the challenges facing Nigerians. He also promised that if elected President, he would spend his annual holidays in Nigeria rather than abroad, to remain close to the people.
