Sustained military operations have disrupted terrorists' logistics networks across Nigeria, resulting in the arrest of Improvised Explosive Device (IED) experts in the North and South East theatres. Director of Defence Media Operations Major General Michael Onoja, providing updates on operations conducted between September 11 and 17, 2026, said troops killed several terrorists and rescued abducted victims. In the North East, troops on September 11 arrested suspected terrorist collaborators, informants, and spies, including a suspect providing information on military convoy movements at Kadauri in Kaga LGA of Borno State. On September 15, troops arrested a suspected terrorist along the Dikwa-Ajiri Main Supply Route while planning to plant an IED around a military outpost, and on September 12, two suspected collaborators were arrested in Mongonu LGA of Borno State.
