The Federal Government has announced that Nigeria needs approximately $237 billion between 2026 and 2030 to finance climate mitigation and adaptation. The Minister of Environment, Balarabe Abbas-Lawal, spoke at the Climate Change and Circular Economy Africa 2026 conference in Abuja, urging private sector investment. The government sees the transition to a circular economy as an opportunity to create jobs and transform waste into valuable resources.
